High Pressure Sodium (HPS) lamps are the best lamps for secondary or supplemental lighting (used in conjunction with natural sunlight) and are ideal for greenhouses and during the budding, flowering and fruiting stages when no natural light is available.
Standard HPS lamps operate in the red/orange spectrum (2100° Kelvin) and promote elongated growth, budding, flowering and fruiting in plants. Available in 100, 150, 250, 400, 430, 600, and 1000 wattages.
Hortilux, enhanced spectrum HPS lamps, produce higher lumens (more energy for plant growth) and 25% more blue spectrum than standard HPS lamps. This enhanced spectral energy is designed to grow a wider variety of plants and produce higher yields during the flora stages. Available in 400, 430, 600, and 1000 wattages.
Hortilux HPS conversion lamps are designed to operate on a Metal Halide system and allows the grower to alternate lamps during each growing stage on the same grow light; saves the cost of purchasing a second grow light. Hortilux HPS conversions lamps also produce 25% more blue/violet than standard HPS lamps. Available in 150, 220, 360 and 940 wattages.
